Digital integrates the power of organizing and narrative to fight for structural change with breadth and depth. At Kairos, integrated strategies mean that in-person and online campaigns reinforce and strengthen each other; relationships and relational organizing are core to this approach. We support our partners to win campaigns in their own communities and states, by experimenting with new ways to organize online, and building new online spaces to organize in.

Kairos collaborates with organizations that are aligned with the fight for racial justice. We work with national, state, and local organizations to reimagine how digital organizing can lead to winning campaigns. Traditional capacity-building efforts often default to a one-way relationship model, where an “expert” dispenses information. Kairos invests and believes in two-way relationships, where partnerships lead to learning and innovation for all of us.

Leadership Development

Leadership development and political education are key components of organizing. That is why Kairos began with the Digital Fellowship. Through the Fellowship, we have graduated 43 leaders of color working as digital strategists in national and state power-building organizations across the country. Kairos also offers training and direct support to build the capacity of our field. Recent trainings have focused on responding to disinformation and on supporting better organizing in the digital realm.

The key to successful online organizing is experimentation built upon best practices. Kairos leads and coordinates research projects with partner organizations to learn and share emerging practices in online organizing. Kairos also runs innovative campaigns to organize the power of inhabitants of the digital realm for racial justice and platform accountability.
